Who we are

What we collect

Information you send us

If you use the contact form we receive the first and last name, email address, subject and message you type into it. We use this solely to read and reply to your enquiry. Providing this information is voluntary — you are not legally obliged to provide it — but without an email address we cannot reply.

Information collected automatically

Like virtually every website, our hosting provider records technical access logs: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the browser and operating system. These logs exist to keep the service running and secure, and to diagnose faults.

What we do not do

• We do not use analytics, advertising, remarketing or social-media tracking.
• We do not embed third-party scripts. Fonts are hosted on our own server, so no data about your visit is sent to Google or any other provider.
• We do not build profiles, and we do not make automated decisions about you.
• We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

Cookies and local storage

This site does not use tracking cookies. The only items stored in your browser are:

• bit_consent — a cookie recording your answer to the cookie notice, so we do not ask again. Kept for 180 days.
• bit-a11y — stored in your browser’s local storage, remembering your accessibility toolbar settings (text size, contrast and so on). It never leaves your device.

You can delete both at any time through your browser settings, and you can reopen the cookie notice using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer.

Why we may process your information, and on what basis

• To answer your enquiry — on the basis of your request and our legitimate interest in responding to people who contact us.
• To keep the site secure and working — on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating a secure service.
• To comply with legal obligations where the law requires us to retain records.

Who else sees the information

Enquiries are read by BIT Consultancy personnel. Information is also technically accessible to the service providers that make the site work:

• Our web hosting provider HostArmada (servers in Frankfurt, Germany), which stores the site and its logs.
• Our email provider Microsoft 365, which delivers messages from the contact form.

We do not otherwise disclose personal information, unless we are required to by law or by a competent authority, or where necessary to defend a legal claim.

International transfers

The website is hosted in Germany, within the European Union. Email, including messages from the contact form, is handled by Microsoft 365, which may process data in data centres outside Israel and the EEA, including in the United States, under Microsoft’s contractual data-protection safeguards.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle them and to maintain a record of our correspondence, and are then deleted. Technical access logs are kept for a short period as determined by our hosting provider.

Security

The site is served over an encrypted HTTPS connection, and the contact form is protected against automated abuse. No system is completely secure, but we take reasonable measures appropriate to the nature of the information involved.

Your rights

Under the Israeli Protection of Privacy Law, 5741-1981, you may inspect information held about you, and request that inaccurate, incomplete or out-of-date information be corrected or deleted.

If you are in the European Union, the GDPR additionally gives you the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection to processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your national supervisory authority.

Children

This site is aimed at professional and institutional audiences and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect information about children.

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always the one published on this page, and the date at the top shows when it last changed.
